SmokeSignal is a free tool for sending self-destructing video and image links. You upload a file, get a short link, and the link destroys itself after it is viewed once or after a 10 minute timer. Nothing sits in a permanent cloud drive.
How do I send a video that deletes itself after viewing?
Drag the video onto this page, pick "After 1 view", and share the link in WhatsApp, Discord, Reddit, email, anywhere. The moment your recipient watches it, the link dies and the file is erased from storage.
Is it really free?
Yes. Sharing links up to 50MB is free, with no account, no sign-up, and no watermarks.
What happens when a link expires?
The file is permanently deleted from storage and cannot be recovered, by you or by us. Unopened links expire on their own after 24 hours, so nothing lingers.
How private is it?
Files are stored in a private bucket and served only through short-lived signed URLs. Link passwords are stored as salted hashes. We keep no accounts and collect no personal details. One honest caveat: while a file is on screen, a recipient can still screenshot or record it, so share sensibly.
What file types can I share?
Video: MP4, MOV, WebM. Images: PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP. Up to 50MB per file.
What content is not allowed?
